Minimally invasive method for amazing teeth

Want a fast way to treat discolored, chipped or cracked teeth?

Dr. Larry Saylor offers a range of cosmetic dental treatments to help improve the appearance of your teeth. From porcelain veneers, to same day crowns, Invisalign and dental implants, we can help restore and rejuvenate your smile.

If you are looking for a fast way to treat your chipped, cracked or discolored teeth, Lumineers are an efficient treatment method.

What causes tooth discoloration?

Tooth discoloration can be caused by a variety of problems: your diet through to poor oral hygiene, medication and accidents.
A damaged tooth may look fine until the pulp starts to die. This will then leave your tooth looking slightly blackened. There are a few treatment options for this. One is: if the damage isn’t severe, then Lumineers may be all you need. If the damage is severe however, you may require root canal therapy and a dental crown.

What Lumineers can do for you

If you want a minimally invasive method of improving the appearance of your teeth: Lumineers could be the best option for you. Lumineers can cosmetically improve stained, crooked, worn or teeth with gaps.

Before we provide treatment, one of our doctors will first need to assess your oral health. If your problem is cosmetic then Dr. Larry Saylor will discuss your options with you. One of the advantages of Lumineers is it does involve any of your natural tooth structure being removed. This means if—in a rare case—a Lumineer comes off, it won’t leave a tooth which has had enamel shaved down.

Having said that with typical porcelain veneers only a miniscule amount of enamel is removed.

Achieving an amazing looking smile

Lumineers require no enamel to be removed, are thinner than porcelain veneers and are placed in one appointment. The advantage is you won’t need to wear temporaries. And it requires only one appointment to place Lumineers.

Typically Lumineers are only placed on the teeth in the smile zone. The smile zone is the six teeth on your top and bottom jaw: essentially the teeth visible when you smile.

Receiving the best treatment

In order to achieve a seamless, healthy-looking smile, Dr Saylor may recommend teeth whitening prior to treatment. The reason for this is the aim of Lumineers, in fact any cosmetic treatment, is to give you a healthy, natural-looking smile.

With Lumineers they are colour-matched to the shade and color of your natural teeth. But if you’re not happy with the color of your teeth it is best to have a tooth whitening treatment for your teeth prior to Lumineers.

Lumineers can’t be whitened. So it’s not as though you can wait until after you’ve had Lumineers and then decide to have whitening—if you do this you’re going to have different colored teeth.
