Dr. Saylor focuses on the latest technology, to make sure your experience at your next appointment is enjoyable and as beneficial as possible.
Dr. Larry Saylor has made significant investments in technology in an effort to provide patients with the most current dentistry available. Technology allows Dr. Saylor and his staff to go above and beyond in terms of customer service, diagnosis and treatments. Not every dental practice is created the same, and Dr. Saylor takes great pride in going above and beyond for his patients.
Dentrix
Award winning services start and end with Dentrix, dental administration software, which allows for streamlining the entire booking and customer service process; from making appointments and reminders to payment card processing, electronic claims and billing statements.
Dentrix is also a completely paperless office, reducing our impact on the environment.
Wireless Digital Doc intraoral camera
To help with your general check-up, the aid of the wireless Digital Doc intraoral camera is enlisted, magnifying what Dr. Saylor is looking at on the monitor. Problems such as cavities or a fractured tooth are made easier to diagnose. The patient is also provided with a visual so they can follow along with Dr. Saylor’s comments. This improves overall communication between Dr. Saylor and his patients.
Dexis digital radiographs
Dexis plays a huge role in providing a prompt, accurate diagnosis regarding any dental concerns you may have. In recent studies, Dexis provided much clearer x-ray images than its competitors, even at a lower exposure setting or when radiograph conditions are not ideal.
This benefits both the patient and the dentist as it reduces the number of time consuming exposure-related retakes and radiation exposure is also reduced. Clearer images also assist the dentist with conveying any issues that may by visible while giving the patient a visual to follow along with. This helps to encourage fluent communication between patient and practitioner.
Why should I get x-rays?
If you’re a new patient Dr. Saylor may recommend x-rays to determine the present status of your oral health. This will give him a baseline to help identify any changes that may occur later. How often they should be updated will depend on your present oral health, age, risk of disease, and any signs or symptoms of oral disease.
Children may require x-rays more often than adults due to their teeth and jaws still developing, and teeth being more susceptible to tooth decay than an adult’s. X-rays may also be used to expose hidden dental structures like wisdom teeth, abscesses, cysts, and identifying bone changes linked to some diseases.
Not every patient will require x-rays. If a previous dentist has x-rays, Dr. Saylor may ask for copies of them. Dr. Larry Saylor will review your history and your current oral health to determine if you need x-rays.
